Lemme just say I’m loving this shaped tweed, and I’m LIVING for this atelier backdrop with real working people. This collection features cool-looking 80’s shapes and silhouettes 60’s style makeup and curly updo. Wide leg pants, culottes, crop sweaters, appliques, and thigh high stilettos are the dominating entities here, while the tweeds and fabrics speak for themselves. Overall, it’s pretty consistent with Karl Lagerfeld for Chanel/Chanel, and while stylistically not my vibe, I will always appreciate Chanel detailing and tailoring. This collection wasn’t necessarily novel or outstanding, but it does evoke a latent retrogressive mood – and it almost seems like the understatement is the statement.
