I could see it at first: sporty futuristic chic with kimono angles, and a somewhat traditional DKNY minimalist approach. But then it’s also a little Yeezy/urban avant-garde trendy. Half of the models look like incarnations of Sporty Rihanna; which isn’t necessarily bad…for a niche designer. But for a collection from DKNY after being sold to G-III Apparel Group, I’d honestly expect a whole lot more. Here specifically I could do with a little more depth and perspective. DKNY has typically had an east coast street style appeal, but this is different. And I just feel like for this new direction, it could have been dynamic. There’s loads of meshes and sheers….and boxy silhouettes with perfunctory name-banded foundation wear. Hm. And I don’t know about the parks & recreation jumpsuits and bandeau looks at the end…Hm.
